Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 2023

Breast Cancer Awareness Month provides an opportunity to increase knowledge on and understanding of the issue. It also serves to strengthen advocacy for regular self-breast examination and screening, especially for women who are 40 years old and older.

Although the chance of having breast cancer is less among men, they are also at risk.

At BAFROW Medical Centre, we believe that no one should have to worry about having, or dealing with, breast cancer.

We also understand that breast cancer does not have to be fatal.

This is why information and education on breast cancer and demonstrations of self-breast examination are routine services provided by our hospital.

Our Mammography screening facility is designed to provide added assurance for those at risk as well as ensure early detection of breast cancer for timely intervention and treatment.

If you think that you are at risk but have never done a mammography screening before, Breast Cancer Awareness Month provides you the opportunity to do so.

Mammography is the best way to prevent breast cancer related deaths.

The procedure is quick and painless, and can save your life.

Come and see us at our Serrekunda branch for a screening.

Don’t wait until it is too late.

You can find out more about our Mammography service by phoning, emailing (see Contact Us) or visiting BAFROW Medical Centre or our Well Woman Family Clinics.
